Overland UAS on YouTube

So, i have finally given into peer pressure and have set up a YouTube account.

Its sole purpose is to offer the same news, reviews, comments and opinions, in another format, that is sometimes more useful than simply writing about it.

For example, a few weeks ago, i attached a few luggage straps to my Inspire case and an old Rucksack, so i can take my Inspire on my back when Mountain Biking or Hiking. Lots of people got in touch, commenting on how useful the post was, and how they could do the same thing. Its so much easier to demonstrate this visually.

So here is the details of my new YouTube channel. I will apologies in advance for my Yorkshire accent, if i need to add subtitles just let me know. Please feel free to comment or rant, i’m not a precious person, i’m still learning, and hopefully this channel can help all us newbies!

UAS Recruitment in the UK

After 12 years in Public and Private sector recruitment, seven of which i ran my own successful company, i decided that i wanted to make my personal passion my business.

Thus, i left the recruitment game for the far more interesting Unnamed Aerial Systems industry, and have been training for my BUNC-S ever since.

That being said, the more i have learnt about the actually business aspect of the UAS industry, not from a hobbyist perspective, i cant get past the huge potential other industries can benefit from this new industry.

Insurance for Personal UAS and Business use, could potentially be huge. If so, sales, marketing, customer service positions will inevitably follow. Business looking to develop their own UAVs for a specific purpose will require engineers, electronics technicians, R&D specialists.

Construction or media companies, government departments and Farmers, would rather out source short-term contracts to qualified and experienced CAA approved UAS Pilots, than employ them permanently.

The huge potential, for UAS application within business and the lack of current recruitment solutions for both clients, candidates and UAS Pilots, is the reason why i have spent the last six months, slowly building contacts within the industry, financing the business, legal and accounting, internal employment and building the new site.

In the past few days, we have already been contacted by two local business looking for recruitment services. One required a qualified UAS Pilot to work on a 3 week contract, for a Roofing Contractor. The other was for a Sales position for a small RC Internet based company in the South.

So maybe if your reading this and you are looking to change careers too, maybe you have recently passed the RPQS or BUNC-S and gained CAA approval, and you are looking for work, get in touch. Maybe you are a business looking for Recruitment advice or to out-source an aerial mapping or imaging contract, please visit our new site at http://www.uascareers.co.uk/ or our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/overlandUAS/timeline

Will post something far more interesting tomorrow i promise. But if you have read this far, thanks.
